  • Avocado oil/olive oil
  • Half stick compound butter

  4. Add 1 clove of minced garlic.
  5. Lather the herbed butter onto a spoon and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Remove 5 minutes before cooking the mignon steaks.

    Charcoal Grills

    1. Fire up your charcoal grill by piling or stacking 2 coals together and leaving it at the highest temperature.
    2. After 15 minutes, the charcoal should turn to white ash, that’s when your grill is ready to cook the mignon steaks.

    For Filet

    1. Season your steaks with some salt and pepper.
    2. Rub a dash of olive oil and rest for 30 minutes.
    3. After 30 minutes, use cooking tongs to place your mignon steaks on the grill grates.
    4. For medium-rare meat, flip the steaks after grilling for 2 minutes on each side.
    5. Hold your steak at a 90-degree angle with cooking tongs for 30 seconds.
    6. Set it back down on the grill for another 3 minutes.
    7. After 3-5 minutes, repeat the same process on the other side.
    8. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (135º F) or until the outside of the meat reaches desired doneness.

    Rest The Meat

    1. Rest the meat on a cutting board for at least 3-5 minutes before serving.

    2. Gas Grill

    2. Rotate halfway through to get the crossed grill marks on your steaks.

    4. Remove the steaks when the meat has been covered on the outside with crossed grill marks.

    Rest The Meat

    1. Rest the meat on a cutting board for at least 5-8 minutes before serving.

    3. Internal Temperature For Grilled Filet mignon

The beauty of a grilled filet mignon is achieving the desired doneness on the meat. This rich cut of steak will cost you a penny more than other cuts of beef, but it won’t take you more than 15-20 minutes to grill.

Most steaks are no more than an inch and a half thick, which means they shouldn’t stay on the grill for any longer than 7-8 minutes. This cooking chart should explain the internal temperature your meat thermometer should read to devour this cut of beef the way you want to.

    4. What Grill Works Best – Gas Or Charcoal?

This might sound cliche, but it is down to preference. Charcoal grills heat up faster than gas grills, so if you’re on the go and want to save time, this will be a better fit. But, even at the lowest temperature, gas grills produce significant heat, so if that’s something you prioritize, you know what to do!

    Gas Grills

    • Don’t produce large amounts of ash-like charcoal grills, so I prefer them as there’s very little cleaning involved.
    • Don’t emit harmful pollutants like carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide.
    • Since they have more than 2 burners, you can create different temperatures for certain foods.

    Charcoal Grills

    • They’re smaller in size than gas grills, so they’re a better fit for backyards and patios.
    • They’re significantly less expensive than gas grills.
    • They give grilled steaks a smoky flavor that can’t be achieved with gas grills. You can also add wood chunks that compliment different cuts of beef and other meats.
